Chapter Four: Valentine's Day.

Good Morning America. This is Julia again. I started this post on Saturday, but then I didn't finish it. So here goes.
Valentine's Day was lovely. I went at 12:45 ish to lunch at the Olive Garden with Chelsea. It was Grandma's 67th anniversary, so they let her out of the nursing home to celebrate. It was just so good to see her out of there. I went to visit her there on Thursday, but she was very tired by the time I got there and mostly was just asleep. I love Grandma. I told her how well she was doing; I saw her lift her left arm up to shoulder height by herself. I told her this, and she said, "But I can't walk yet."

You'll get there Grandma. This is a picture of Grandma on her birthday in California. I think Kristen took it, but I stole it.I love to see her smiling. She's such a cute grandma.
I sat next to Uncle Noel and Jacob for lunch. I was talking to Uncle Noel about Spanish and grammar; two things I love, and he was telling me about this book he just got called "English Grammar." I guess it's huge, like, dictionary size, but he's been reading it. Then we started talking about grammar and languages, and he took Latin in high school. That sounded way tough, but really interesting. Probably makes learning languages a lot easier later on. I didn't eat though, because I had to go meet Glenn a little later and he was making me dinner for Valentine's day. He also sent me flowers. The ones at the top of the page. Aren't they pretty? I think so.
So anyways, Glenn texted me in the morning on the 14th and told me to just relax and he'd come get me at 4:00. That worked out perfectly because I only found out about Grandma's lunch the day before and Glenn and I were going to cook the food together, but he said he wanted to do it for me, which let me free to go see the family. I don't know how he always knows things like that. So he came over at 4:00 to get me and we went to his apartment that he had decorated. He cut out paper hearts and put them on the walls and put glowy stars on the ceiling. It was really cute. Then we talked til dinner was ready and then we had a picnic in the living room. He said he was scared that the food would be bad, and that I didn't have to eat it if it wasn't good, but he had nothing to be afraid of. The baked ziti was really very good. Probably the best I've ever had. Then after dinner, we tried to think of picnic activities to do because this was, after all, a picnic, and I am, after all, Captain Picnic. All the activities I though of though, were not ones that could be done inside. [volleyball, frisbee, etc]. So we ended up telling scary stories. Actually, Glenn told scary stories, mine were more happy ones. I am not good at scary. Then we had a dance under the glowy stars. And Glenn laughed at me when I tried to sing to him in Spanish and teach him the merengue. Oh, and I gave him his gift, which he loved/laughed at. He was baffled by the existence of such cards and I think that they were a little ridiculous, but also pretty funny. So that was my Valentine's Day.

xoxo.

  1. Dear What I Do:

    We're glad you had a fun V-Day!

We're really glad you got to see Grandma. She & Grandpa did a great job together raising 9 (count 'em, nine) outstanding children. She's a great example.

    Love,

    What We Do.

  2. Fine, I'll change the name of the blog. I just couldn't think of something more appropriate and "Julia's Blog" is kind of unoriginal.

  3. Also, just so you are updated:
My part has returned to the left side of my head. And I love grandma. I can't wait until she gets better enough to leave the nursing place.
